Yichang, Shanghai and Nepal

23 December 2013 | China, Wuhan

It has been a while since I have posted something on here.

First I would like to say that my Facebook stopped working since I came back from Shanghai, therefore I will post the pictures on here instead of Facebook. Another thing that stopped working is my m key (it's missing, so please excuse me for some missing m's)

Since my last post I have stayed at Yichang primarily to visit the dam site. Turned out there was a lot more to do than just the dam. During my first day in Yichang I went around the city because I arrived pretty late. The rest of the day consisted of resting.
The next day I decided to go to the dam as the weather was pretty clear. It was truly amazing; the immense structure they built and the views around it were beautiful. I've added some pictures of Yichang to my Facebook, so if you would like to see the pictures please look at my FB.
I spent the second day going to some scenic area and apparently missing its most important sight. Nonetheless I had a great day in a kind of village with just wooden houses and walking up a mountain for great views. I spent my last day in Yichang in the QingJiang river gallery. This was a boat ride across the Qing river with some hop-offs at touristic sites. All tourists were Chinese but still everything was built for tourists, which was a shame. The views were really good though, so it is understandable.

After Yichang I spent some time catching up in Wuhan, not doing a lot I must say. Until last week, when I decided to go to Shanghai.

Shanghai is truly a great city. There are not many touristic sights in Shanghai but nonetheless I really enjoyed my stay there. It's a great city to just walk around in, and gaze and all the Chinese. The most stunning moment was up in the TV-tower where you can have a view over the whole city and even walk on a glass plate 260 meters high. I must say it was pretty scary walking up there, but the sights are really worth it. Furthermore I visited some temples and did some walking around (which in Shanghai is great).

I came back this Thursday and now I already need to prepare myself for my next trip to Nepal, because I will leave tomorrow.

    Hoi Martin,

Leuk om weer wat te lezen. Zag je foto's en ben best wel janloers :o
Voor het toetsenbord weet ik wel een oplossing. Als je de letter 'r' nu gewoon op de m druk, want die heb heb je toch niet nodig in China :p
